International Climate Change
IPCC: The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is a scientific intergovernmental body tasked to evaluate the risk of climate change caused by human activity.
Stern Report: The Stern Review on the Economics of Climate Change is a 700-page report released in 2006 which discusses the effect of climate change and global warming on the world economy. Its main conclusion is that the benefits of strong, early action on climate change considerably outweigh the costs.
WMO: The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) is the UN's authoritative voice on the state and behavior of the Earth's atmosphere, its interaction with the oceans, the climate it produces and the resulting distribution of water resources.
UNFCCC: The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC or FCCC) is an international environmental treaty produced at the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED), informally known as the Earth Summit in 1992. The treaty is aimed at stabilizing greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere at a level that would prevent dangerous anthropogenic interference with the climate system.

CIDA: The Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) is Canada’s lead agency for development assistance.
DFID: The Department for International Development (DFID) is the part of the UK government that manages Britain's aid to poor countries and works to get rid of extreme poverty.
GTZ: The GTZ is an International Cooperation Enterprise for sustainable development with worldwide operations.

Nigerian Organizations & Networks

Special Climate Change Unit, Federal Ministry of the Environment

NEST  The Nigerian Environmental Study/Action Team (NEST) is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization, with headquarters in Ibadan, Nigeria.  Its primary focus is on the environment and sustainable development, to which it is dedicated to providing advocacy and raising public awareness. NEST runs the BNRCC project.

ARDA  The African Radio Drama Association is a non-profit, non-governmental organization located in Nigeria. ARDA was formed as a development campaign through the use of entertaining radio drama programs.

Nigeria-CAN  Nigeria-CAN aims to bring together influential change champions in a coalition under the umbrella of the Nigeria Climate Action Network.

Heinrich Boell Foundation, Nigeria  HBS is a non-governmental organization that has had a country office in Lagos since 2002. HBF conducts and supports civic educational activities in the fields of human, social and political rights, gender democracy, conflict resolution, and good governance – including work on climate change.

NCF Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF) was established in 1980. NCF has maintained a lead role in the promotion of nature conservation and environmental protection; and has remained an institutional symbol of environmental protection in Nigeria in its 27 years of existence.

CCDI Nigeria  CCDI is a non-profit organization that focuses on both rural and urban communities and has adopted a holistic approach to ecologically sustainable development that puts people first and adds value to the environment.

C4C Coalitions for Change (C4C) aims to accelerate Nigeria's progress towards achieving the Millennium Development Goals.
